The upcoming ASUS ROG Flow X16 release date has us very excited to get our hands on this new, unique, 2-in-1 gaming laptop. This latest in the ROG Flow series (revealed at the For Those Who Dare: Boundless ROG launch event on May 17th 2022) takes the display size to a whopping 16-inches, and comes packing with the most powerful GPU seen in a 2-in-1 touch screen laptop of these dimensions: the Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti. Read below for everything we know so far about the MSRP and ASUS ROG Flow X16 release date, as well as a breakdown of the specifications.
The most powerful in the ASUS ROG Flow series previously was the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 which we reviewed earlier in 2022. This 13.4″ device had a maximum spec option of an Intel Core i9-12900H CPU and a RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU (with a max TGP of 40W). Although the RTX 3070 Ti laptop graphics card is weaker than some found in other full-sized laptops with the same GPU, at 125W it is still much more powerful than the Flow Z13. The improved three fan system with additional cooling vents and liquid metal cooling for the CPU minimizes the thermal throttling on these components, despite the small chassis.
Combined with the 16″ 165Hz display (with a reported 3ms response time) this looks to be an impressive gaming machine for such a thin device, that would also work as a superb laptop for creatives, given its 100% DCI-P3 gamut coverage and bright Mini LED DisplayHDR touchscreen.
ASUS has confirmed that the ASUS ROG Flow X16 release date will be in Q3 2022 though beyond this we do not have a specific date as of yet.
ASUS has confirmed that the ASUS ROG Flow X16 price will begin at £2,799.99, which would put the USD starting price at over $3,000, even factoring in the typically cheaper US pricing for computing electronics. We do not know the exact spec loadout this MSRP would get you, but it seems highly unlikely to be the max-specced option, which would cost significantly more.
